To my Friends...My nutjob teacher from Leadership for Change (she told us to say that hoping that you all wouldn't be playing around and answer the question) wants me to interview 5 people that I call friends. I only have one question to ask.
1. WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE MY GREATEST GIFTS/STRENGTHS?
We all know that I think I am great but what do you think??? Feel free to add to the cipher.

Your greatest gift/strength so far in my observation of your behavior and conversation is your listening skill and the gift of wisdom that can only come from observing others and learning from your own hardships and your life experiences. I know this will take you as far as you want to go. Keep your head up and your mind straight always.
ReplyDeleteGracias...words of encouragement are NEEDED.
ReplyDeleteI think one of your greatest strengths is your ability to forget about the bullshit and call things like you see them. This gift is something special because so many people are often lost or at least confused by the actions or words of others whereas you are able to decipher the real message regardless of the illusions. Another gift I absolutely know you posses is the gift of strength. The strength that you've shown us all in the past couple years is unbelievable. I could probably go on and on about your gifts and strengths but I'll stop there. Always remember "to thine ownself be true."
ReplyDeletethis is pretty easy since i've known you for close to 15 years (has it really been that long). anyway, i think your greatest gifts/strengths are as follows (in no particular order)... 1. memory. both short and long term. 2. great listener. most who don't know you very well would probably be shocked. 3. patience. this could actually be considered a fault in certain situations lol because you have put yourself in some real bs sometimes. 4. loyalty. this might actually be your best quality. i know you've bit your tongue about certain people/things on SEVERAL occasions and we've laughed about it. some of the times have even been about me... crazy thing is neither one of us have said anything about those times out loud but we've both been like, "what the hell is his problem?" in our heads. 5. critical thinker. i think this one is extremely important. instead of settling for the usual xerox copy mainstream information, you've taken it upon yourself to search for the "real" answer(s), regardless of the subject. its probably more but that's enough gassin' your head up! good luck with the assignment, bro. peace.
ReplyDeleteOne of your greatest strengths is your ability to persevere. Having faced one crisis after another, you never lost sight of YOUR goals. Often times many people end up compromising what they want for themselves based on what others are telling them, BUT NOT YOU. You have the ability to stay focused on what you want, and you have not allowed anyone or anything to stop you. GOOD JOB!!!
ReplyDeleteThere are many things that I have noticed to be some of your gifts/strengths. Out of that many, the list goes a little somethin like this;
ReplyDelete1. You have a juicy brain for me to pick and eat till I am full. or ripe for the picking like exotic fruit to be cherished and enjoyed when in season
2. You are a Master Linguist, enriched with essential vitamins, watering the cosmos with your endless scrolls of vocabulary.
3. You have quite an elaborate and boundless sense of humor, with the added ability to jump right into a humorous exchange and milk it to death, then resuscitate it, only to kill it again with sweat breaking, migrane causing laughter.
4. Your great knowledge of music. Encased in your library like mind are dozens of dozens of historical lesson, facts and information on music, samples, original and contributing artists to songs that most of us have long forgotten.
5. And last but certainly not least, you are insightful. You have razor-sharp perceptive attributes that set you apart from just a random associate, met in passing-making those you meet, want to invite you into their inner circle.
You have a lot of great attributes and gifts but what stands out to me is your temperment. You have a very calm and peaceful spirit that can't be shook and what makes it so great is the fact that it is not easily shaken. You also are a great listener and you are very fair and honest. Your wisdom and words may not always be what your friends want to hear but at the end of the day, you are sharing what you think is best. I think you are very funny and have a great sense of humor and don't take yourself to seriously. You are very loyal and above all a great person and friend. It has been my honor to be your friend for the past twelve years and I look forward to one hundred more!
ReplyDeleteYou must be a wonderful person from reading all these people comments. From what I hear is that you are a good listener, and observer. Plus, you still got your focus. In today's society anybody can get off track. Cheers to you and your success.
ReplyDeleteJerel,
ReplyDeleteYou are a compassion person, and I think you are extremely capable of going beyond your wildest dreams. Your Mom, would be so happy to see what you have accomplished this far. I was so estatic to see you in the Leadership class this Spring semester. You have to let yourself be happy sometimes. I know how much you are hurting with your Mom's death. I lost my Mom too & it is hard for me a lot of times.
However, I know my Mom would want me to be happy and finish school. I'm sure your Mom would proabaly feel the same way too. You are a great person; but you have to let yourself feel happy sometimes.
Your smile would light up a room if you would let yourself be free.
